Asthma

Asthma is a chronic disease of the lungs that causes inflammation in the airway and can complicate normal breathing patterns. Asthma often starts at childhood but affects people of all ages. More than 25 million people have been diagnosed with asthma in the United States.

Treatment

While there is no cure for asthma, treatment can help reduce symptoms and manage flare ups. Asthma is usually treated with medication that can be administered with medications that can be adminsitered orally or through inhalers or injections. Medication options vary from patient to patient depending on individual needs and symptoms.
