Ms. Gooch grew up in Maryland. She earned an Associates degree in nursing in 2003, and a Masters degree in nursing with an emphasis in family nurse practitioner in 2005. In 2010 she completed a post-Masters degree training in adult acute care locally at Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, TN. Her work experience includes four years of primary care medicine in a community health environment in New Jersery, and private practice here in Tennessee. Michelle then stepped out of her comfort zone and worked with a non-cardiac vascular surgeon in Dalton for almost two years. Finally, in 2012 Ms. Gooch found a passion for pulmonary medicine.
“I chose the thing that scared me the most and LOVED IT!! My motives for patients are only good. I enjoy communicating the plan and why we choose what we will do with each patient on an individual basis as each case is entirely different. We go into nursing because we care about people and are teachers. I am grateful for those patients who have taught me about life and God in their illness, hope and despair.”
Outside of work, Michelle enjoys the outdoors, her dogs, antiques, yoga and humor. She is married and has one daughter born in 2013.
