A New Way to Detect Lung Cancer Earlier — Without Unnecessary Procedures
The expert team at the Lung Doc’s is delighted to announce our new partnership with Biodesix to offer Nodify Lung Testing. This is a blood-based diagnostic tool that helps assess the risk of lung cancer in patients with lung nodules.
The Lung Docs choose Biodesix because we are committed to advancing early lung cancer diagnosis through evidence-based innovation. By incorporating Nodify Lung Testing, our team can better stratify lung nodule patients by risk, avoiding unnecessary procedures for benign cases while identifying malignant nodules sooner.
The Lung Docs are especially delighted to offer Nodify Lung testing from Biodesix, because it enhances early detection and helps to improve coordination of care between The Lung Docs and primary care providers.
What is Nodify Lung Testing?
Biodesix’s innovative Nodify Lung Testing strategy uses two different non-invasive blood tests known as the Nodify CDT test and the Nodify XL2 test.
The Nodify CDT test is designed to identify nodules that have a higher risk of being malignant. The Nodify XL2 test, on the other hand, is designed to identify patients whose nodules are likely to be benign and therefore unlikely to require invasive procedures.
How does Nodify Lung testing work?
Both tests do this by using blood biomarkers to evaluate a patient’s cancer risk. The Nodify CDT test looks for autoantibodies in the blood, while the Nodify XL2 test does this by primarily measuring the amount of two proteins in the blood.
The Lung Docs’ Lung Nodule Program
What is the Lung Docs’ Lung Nodule Program?
Run by a Pulmonary and critical care expert, lung care specialist Chattanooga, TN, Dr. Mike Czarnecki, the Lung Cancer Nodule Program is a clinic focused on the early detection and management of lung nodules. To facilitate this, Dr Czarnecki and his team use Robotic Bronchoscopy (using a robotic scope) and Thoracentesis ( removing excess fluid around the lungs), as well as other procedures to detect and manage lung nodules. These procedures help support both primary care teams and speciality teams as they ensure clear and fast referral pathways, as well as streamlining diagnosis.
What are the benefits for patients of The Lung Doc’s Lung Nodule Program?
The great news is that the lung care specialist Chattanooga, TN, Lung Nodule Program is partnering with Biodesix and using their innovative and much less invasive blood tests, meaning patient care and coordination can be further improved.
The first major benefit is that because the tests are simple blood draws, more patients can avoid more invasive procedures to determine whether their nodules are malignant or benign.
Additionally, these blood tests provide fast results, which means patients are not stuck in limbo for a long time, anxious to know how serious their condition is and what their next move should be. Lastly, Nodify lung testing also means diagnosis can be made much earlier, which in turn means treatment can be given faster, and outcomes can improve.
