PULMONOLOGIST

Dr. Mike Czarnecki

Dr. Michael Czarnecki, ABIM certified in pulmonary and critical care, trained at Baylor College of Medicine. A former USAF officer and explosive-munitions engineer, he transitioned to medicine after volunteering as a firefighter and paramedic. Dr. Czarnecki is skilled in pulmonary procedures such as intubation, mechanical ventilation, and bronchoscopy.

His research focuses on minimally invasive lung cancer diagnosis, pleural diseases, COPD exacerbation control, and airway stenting. Dr. Czarnecki excels in treating complex pulmonary diseases and caring for critically ill patients. He is currently accepting new patients.

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT, CERTIFIED

Pace Rothery, PA-C

Pace Rothery, PA-C, graduated from UT before attending South College in Knoxville, where she graduated with a Master's in Physician Assistant Studies in 2019. She worked in Orthopedics for 4 years before coming to the Lung Docs. In her free time, she can be found outside hiking or mountain biking and spending time with her husband and son.

LICENSED CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST

Tracy Schultz, PsyD

Dr. Schultz is a licensed clinical psychologist in Chattanooga, Tennessee, specializing in cognitive behavioral therapy with an emphasis on outcome-oriented treatment. She partners with clients to increase coping strategies for significant life transitions and treats anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. Licensed in New York and Tennessee, she is authorized for interstate telepsychology under PSYPACT.

With over 22 years of experience, Dr. Schultz works primarily with adults in private practice, hospitals, and community settings. Her therapeutic process focuses on active client engagement, empowerment, self-awareness, and developing personal mastery over life challenges. She provides a non-judgmental space for individuals of all genders and sexual orientations. Clients work together with Dr. Schultz as a therapeutic team.

With a background deeply rooted in healthcare, she can bring a wealth of experience to the table, coupled with a genuine commitment to fostering a compassionate and efficient medical practice environment.

    Michelle is a wife and mother to one daughter and has worked in the medical field for over 25 years. She began her career at Blue Cross Blue Shield before continuing on to Memorial Hospital and later Erlanger. She eventually found her professional home at The Lung Docs, where she works as a Medical Assistant and performs Pulmonary Function Tests. Michelle is dedicated to providing the best patient care possible and treats every patient like family.

    Macy is a Medical Assistant with over seven years of experience in radiology. She began her career at Chattanooga Imaging and later continued her work at Children’s Hospital. Macy enjoys being the first point of contact for patients and takes pride in creating a warm, welcoming experience that helps people feel comfortable and cared for.

    Outside of work, she is a proud mom who spends plenty of time at the ballfields cheering on her child. She’s also a cat lover, an avid reader, and has a soft spot for anything pink or floral—her personal happy things.

    Marisa is a Medical Assistant with several years of experience working with patients. Before joining The Lung Docs, she worked as a Registered Behavioral Therapist, which helped grow her passion for helping and supporting others. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, which has helped her better understand and connect with our patients. She loves being part of a team that creates a welcoming environment, helps patients feel comfortable and at ease during their visits.


    Outside of work, she loves spending time with her son. They enjoy hiking, traveling, and finding new places to explore together. She especially loves being in nature, and some of their favorite days are the ones spent on little adventures together!
